WhosOntheBallot.org is ready with all the information you need to prepare and stay informed for the November 4th election, which includes the mayor, city comptroller, public advocate, supreme court (state) judge, district attorney, and Manhattan borough president.

There will also be six ballot proposals this year; you can read about each of them here and for more information here.

Visit WhosOntheBallot.org to check your voter registration, early voting poll location, election day poll location and set a calendar reminder for election day. Just put in your address to find out who is on your ballot and get links to all the candidates’ websites so you can be informed before voting. You can also find your sample ballot, which shows exactly what your ballot will look like in your election district.

October 25 is the last day voter registration applications can be received by your Board of Elections by mail or in person. You may also register to vote online with a valid Driver License, Permit or Non-Driver ID from the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles. See if you are already registered and with which political party and register to vote online at WhosOntheBallot.org

ABSENTEE VOTING

The deadline to request an absentee ballot for the election is October 25 for online requests and November 3 for in-person requests. The last day to postmark your ballot is November 4; postmarked ballot envelopes must be received by your Board of Elections by November 12. If you have already requested an absentee ballot:

  • ·  Track the status of the absentee ballot you requested here. The system updates every 24 hours and applications may take up to 72 hours to appear.
  • ·  Please call 1-866-868-3692 or email AbsenteeHelp@boe.nyc with questions. Assistance is available in multiple languages.
  • ·  If you don’t feel comfortable mailing your ballot or can’t drop it off in person, Invisible Hands volunteers will deliver your ballot for free! Click here to request a volunteer.

New York State voters who requested an Absentee Ballot can still vote in person but are no longer permitted to cast a ballot on a voting machine. To vote in person, you must request an Affidavit ballot at early voting or election day poll sites.
