Registering to Vote

Saturday, June 15 is the last day voter registration applications can be received by your Board of Elections (BoE) by mail or in-person. You can also register to vote online.

Absentee Voting

• Saturday, June 15 – last day to request an absentee ballot online or by mail

• Monday, June 24 – last day to request an absentee ballot in-person at your county BoE

• Tuesday, June 25 – date by which BoE must receive your ballot by postmark

If you have already requested an absentee ballot:

• Track the status of the absentee ballot you requested here. The system updates every 24 hours and applications may take up to 72 hours to appear.

• Please call 1-866-868-3692 or email with questions. Assistance is available in multiple languages.

• If you don’t feel comfortable mailing your ballot or can’t drop it off in-person, Invisible Hands volunteers will deliver your ballot for free! Click here to request a volunteer.

New York State voters who requested an Absentee Ballot can still vote in-person but are no longer permitted to cast a ballot on a voting machine. To vote in-person, you must request an Affidavit ballot at early voting or election day poll sites.
