Interpret for Your Fellow New Yorkers on Election Day

The New York City Board of Elections is seeking Election Day Interpreters.  Interpreters are paid $200 for working Election Day,  $25 for taking and passing a training class, and a $35 performance incentive.  

To ensure the Board has enough interpreters, last-minute classes have been set up in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Staten Island, and Queens.

If you know of anyone interested, please refer them to ask them to e-mail interpreter2013@boe.nyc.ny.us and include their name, birth date, address, phone number, and the language they speak in the email. 

The language needs of each Borough are shown below

  • Manhattan – Spanish & Chinese
  • Brooklyn – Spanish & Chinese
  • Queens – Spanish Chinese, Korean, Bengali, Hindi
  • Bronx – Spanish
  • Staten Island – Spanish
