Important General Election Dates You Need to Know
Mark your calendars with these important election-related dates.
Oct 9, 2016: 9pm – 10:30pm 2nd Presidential Debate
Where: Washington University in St. Louis
Moderator: Martha Raddatz, Chief Global Affairs Correspondent and Co-Anchor of “This Week,” ABC
Moderator: Anderson Cooper, Anchor, CNN
Oct 14, 2016: Voter Registration Ends in NY
Where: New York, NY
Last day to register to vote in person or by mail for the General Election. Mailed registration must be postmarked by Oct. 14th and received by OCT. 19th. The voter registration form should be used to change your party enrollment from one party to another or to enroll for the first time in a party.
Oct 19, 2016: 9pm – 10:30pm 3rd Presidential Debate
Where: University of Nevada, Las Vegas
Moderator: Chris Wallace, Anchor, Fox News Sunday
Nov 1, 2016: Absentee Ballot Deadlines
Absentee Ballot return deadline – Last day for a board of elections to receive Military/Special Federal absentee application, if by mail and previously registered.
Absentee Ballot Request deadline – By Mail: Last day to apply by mail for General election absentee ballot (Must be postmarked by this day).
Nov 7, 2016: All day Absentee Ballot Deadlines
Absentee Ballot return deadline – By Mail: Last day to mail absentee ballot (by voter). Ballot must be postmarked by this date and must be received by the county board by Nov. 15th.
Absentee Ballot Request deadline – In Person: Last day to apply in person for General Election absentee ballot.
Nov 8, 2016: 6am – 9pm General Election Day
Where: Your designated polling place. Polling Places open 6:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.
If you are not sure of that location you can find you poll site location by:
1) Search with the Online Poll Site Address Locator
2) Call the Voter Phone Bank at 1.866.VOTE.NYC
3) E-mail your complete home address to us at vote@boe.nyc.ny.us and we’ll e-mail your polling place location back to you. (Please put in the subject line the borough in which you reside.)
Absentee Ballot return deadline – In Person: Last day (election day) to deliver absentee ballot in person to the county board (by close of polls).
