Today (10/29) Is the Last Day to Apply for an Absentee Ballot by Mail
Today, October 29, is the last day to apply for an absentee ballot by mail!
Registered voters who cannot make it to their polling site on Election Day because of a number of acceptable reasons (including business, studies, travel, imprisonment if not a convicted felon, illness, disability, hospitalization, or residence in a long-term care facility) can vote by absentee ballot. You can vote absentee by mail or in person.
To vote request an absentee ballot by mail, you can download the absentee ballot application from the NYC Board of Elections in a variety of languages including English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Bengali.
Mail the completed application to your borough Board of Elections office. Applications must be post marked by seven days before the election (that’s today). The Board of Elections will mail you an absentee ballot, which you will fill out and return to your Board office. The absentee ballot must be postmarked no later than the day before the election and received by the Board within 7 days of the election.
You can also hand deliver your absentee ballot application to the BOE office in your borough (no later than the day before the election) and receive your absentee ballot immediately.
