REMINDER: New York has a Closed Primary – What This Means for You

Tomorrow’s New York presidential primary is a closed primary. This means that you may vote only if you have previously enrolled with the party whose primary you would like to participate in.

Only registered Democrats will be able to cast a ballot for either Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders, and only registered Republicans will be able to vote for Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, or John Kasich. If you are enrolled with a different party or no party at all, you will not be able to vote in New York’s primary tomorrow.

The deadlines to register and enroll in a party have already passed. If you are unsure whether or not you are registered with a particular party, you may check your registration status here. If you are unsure what your county is, please refer to the following map
